The S.Me.P.P. (Società Mezzi Portuali Piombino) S.p.A., a joint-stock corporation, historically represents the first example of an Italian harbor business that utilizes both private and public capital. It was formed in the 1970’s by the historical consul of the Compagnia Portuale, Mr. Pedroni, and by the president of La Magona d' Italia, Prof. Fazzi, sponsored by the Ministry of the Mercantile Marine. |

The company has always carried out an important role of stability in the port of Piombino, adding the Compagnia Portuali (40 %), Lucchini (10 %) and ARCELORMITTAL Piombino (50 %) to its financial group, and guaranteeing the quality of its services to all operating associates and other harbor operators with which it collaborates continuously. |
